Mother died during death and Denis was taken to a baby's home where he was cared for 9 months. After 9 months he was referred back to Kotido. Denis was then received at shalom home at 9 months and has since been living and growing at shalom home. His father is alive but refused to take back his son because he is too old and unable to take care of his son.
